Why offline, for Polish
Poland runs on good roads and fast trains, but step past Kraków or Warsaw and English thins out quickly: a small-town pharmacy, an older shopkeeper, a rural station where nobody switches to your language. Those are exactly the moments a translator has to work with no bars at all. On-device means it runs in airplane mode, on the regional train, deep in the Tatras, the places where the signal drops but you still need to be understood.
Polish uses the alphabet you already know, which is the trap. A word like "szczęście" or a town like "Szczebrzeszyn" looks readable right up until you try to say it, and clusters of sz, cz, and ż won't sound out the way English instincts expect. That's where a translator that speaks the phrase aloud earns its place: you read the English, and it says the Polish for you, word by word, so you're not staring down a wall of consonants at the counter.

Google Translate can translate supported language pairs offline after their language packs are downloaded.
