A journaling app can technically compare sleep or activity data with mood. But the honest answer for Daily Vibe today is no: the current app does not request or read Apple Health data. Its trends use only what you choose to record in the journal: mood, energy, themes, and your own words.
Studio AM makes Daily Vibe, so this is a product disclosure rather than a neutral review. We are keeping this page current because a feature should not appear in search, screenshots, or marketing before it exists in the shipping app.
What Daily Vibe shows today
Daily Vibe can show how your recorded mood and energy move over time. It can also reflect themes that recur in your entries. The numbers in its charts are computed from those entries; an on-device model does not invent the data points.
That gives the app a useful but deliberately narrow view:
| Signal | In Daily Vibe today | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Mood | Yes | Your check-ins and entries |
| Energy | Yes | Your check-ins and entries |
| Recurring themes | Yes | On-device analysis of your words |
| Sleep | No | Apple Health is not read |
| Steps or activity | No | Apple Health is not read |
The AI analysis runs on your iPhone. Entries stay local by default, and optional private iCloud sync is off until you choose it. There is no Studio AM account and we cannot read your private iCloud data.
Why sleep-versus-mood claims need restraint
Even when an app does have sleep and activity access, a chart cannot tell you that one thing caused another. Poor sleep and a heavy mood might move together because of work stress, illness, travel, medication, or something the phone cannot see. The direction can run the other way too: mood can affect sleep.
A responsible app should therefore say “these measurements moved together,” not “this caused your mood.” It should also make health access opt-in, request only the data it needs, and avoid presenting a personal trend as medical advice.
What we will not imply
Daily Vibe does not currently offer sleep or steps correlation, so we will not list it as a feature or use those terms to attract downloads. If health signals return in a future version, the shipping app, privacy disclosure, screenshots, and store metadata should all change together.
For now, Daily Vibe is a private mood journal: write or speak your day, see your recorded mood and energy over time, and receive restrained reflections drawn from your own words. It is a mirror, not a diagnosis. There is no free feature tier; eligible new subscribers may receive a 3-day trial, followed by $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year in the US. You can see the current feature set on the Daily Vibe app page.
FAQ
Does Daily Vibe read my Apple Health data? No. The current app does not request or read sleep, steps, or other Apple Health data. Its trends come from the mood, energy, and journal entries you record.
Can Daily Vibe show mood patterns over time? Yes. It charts the mood and energy recorded in your entries and can reflect recurring themes, using on-device analysis grounded in your own words.
Does a correlation mean my sleep causes my mood? No. Correlation only says two measurements moved together. It cannot establish cause, rule out other factors, or provide a medical diagnosis.
Is Daily Vibe medical advice? No. Daily Vibe is a private reflection tool, not a clinician, diagnosis, or substitute for professional care.
