Roambook
Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026 (v1.2.6)
Privacy first: Roambook is a private travel journal built so that we never see your data. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics, and no ads. Everything the app saves stays on your device unless you choose to export or back it up.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Personal information
We collect no personal information. Roambook requires no Studio AM account or email address. You can use it without identifying yourself to Studio AM.
1.2 Your travel data
Your trips (photos, notes, dates, places, and app settings) are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage (SwiftData / UserDefaults). They are not transmitted to Studio AM. If you use Backup or Export, you choose the destination through Apple's share sheet; that destination can include Files, iCloud Drive, or a third-party app. Your app data may also be included in your own iCloud device backup if you have that enabled.
2. Optional Apple and web services
Place Search uses Apple's Maps service when you enter a query. Apple processes that query and returns matching places; Studio AM does not receive it. Voice transcription requires on-device recognition, and Roambook's Apple Intelligence features use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your recording, journal, and AI prompts are not sent to Studio AM.
If Roambook cannot answer a journal question, it may offer a Search the web button. Nothing is sent automatically. Only if you tap it does Roambook open DuckDuckGo in your browser with that question as the search query; the browser and DuckDuckGo then handle it under their own privacy terms.
3. Purchases
The optional one-time Roambook Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never receive your payment details. We do not run a server; your Pro entitlement lives in your Apple ID and restores for free on any device signed into the same Apple ID.
4. Analytics, ads & tracking
None. Roambook contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracking SDKs. We do not use the Advertising Identifier and do not track you across apps or websites.
5. Children
Roambook is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
6. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
