Memo Logger
Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026 (v1.0)
Privacy first: Memo Logger has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, telemetry, or cloud-sync service. Your recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to Studio AM. The only network use in the app is Apple's StoreKit, described below.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Personal information
Studio AM collects no personal information through Memo Logger. The app requires no account, email address, or Studio AM identifier.
1.2 Your recordings and transcripts
Audio you record, files you import, transcripts, your edits, speaker names, markers, titles and tags are stored locally on your device. Memo Logger does not use CloudKit or a Studio AM server to sync any of it. Recordings are never uploaded, and no part of a transcript is sent anywhere for processing.
1.3 Analytics and advertising
Memo Logger contains no third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking, or Studio AM telemetry. We do not receive usage data from the app.
2. Microphone
The app records only while you have started a recording, and iOS shows its own recording indicator throughout. Audio is written directly to the app's own storage on your device. Microphone access is used for nothing else.
3. Transcription happens on your device
Speech is turned into text by Apple's on-device speech recognition, running locally on your iPhone or iPad. Neither the audio nor the resulting text leaves the device to be transcribed. This is why the app works with no internet connection at all.
4. Files you import
When you import an audio file, a video file or a transcript file, it is read from the location you choose and stored in the app's own space. Imported originals are preserved so you can export them again unchanged. The app never downloads, scrapes or extracts content from YouTube or any other online service; it works only with files you already have, or text you paste in yourself.
5. Network use
The one network user in the app is Apple's StoreKit, which contacts Apple to load subscription plans, process a purchase, and restore access. Apple handles payment and trial eligibility; Studio AM does not receive your name, email address, or payment details.
6. Your data and access after a subscription ends
Everything you have already recorded or imported remains readable, playable, searchable and exportable without an active subscription. Ending a subscription or losing network access never deletes or locks your own recordings. Export produces the audio file, the transcript as text or as SRT/VTT with timings, and a lossless JSON copy of everything. Settings offers a delete-everything option, which removes local data and does not affect your Apple subscription.
7. Children's privacy
Memo Logger is designed for adults and older students recording their own lectures, meetings and interviews. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
8. Recording responsibly
Laws about recording other people differ by country and by state, and some settings require the consent of everyone present. You are responsible for having permission to record. The app does not record anything without you starting it.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
